Disneyland Avatar area to be ‘as amazing’ as Animal Kingdom’s
In a recently-posted D23 article, Disney claims that info is sparse on this upcoming experience, and we can expect more details later.
“If you’ve had a chance to experience Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you have a pretty good idea of what Imagineers are capable of,” said Disney CEO Robert A. Iger
One thing that comes to mind when you think of Pandora – The World of Avatar is impressive. The scale, detail, and immersion are next level. The floating mountains have become icons of engineering and Disney Parks attention to monumental scale.
When originally announced by Bob Iger, the news of more Disney Parks Avatar content was a striking statement. Iger attributes the popularity of James Cameron’s “Avatar” sequel “Avatar: The Way of Water as the motivation for bringing the franchise to Disneyland.
Bailey Bass, who plays Tsireya in “Avatar: The Way of Water,” told D23, “I am over the moon about the Avatar expansion to Disneyland [Resort]! As a huge Disney fan and fan of the Avatar rides in [Walt] Disney World, I am so excited for Avatar fans to be able to experience the world of Pandora at Disneyland. I cannot wait to see what the Avatar and Disney team creates. I already know it’s gonna be awe-inspiring, jaw dropping, and magical.”
If we are to expect something as incredible as the current land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, then this Disneyland Avatar experience will be nothing short of world-class. With the newest film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” becoming the third highest grossing film of all time (and with three more sequels on the way), there is so much content to pull from. Perhaps the Disneyland Resort can offer a peak into the water tribes of Pandora, whereas Walt Disney World provides the experience of the forest Na’vi.
